Description of works: relevance of dissemination and communication to meet the objectives of SMILING
SMILING will raise awareness about the urgent need for the implementation of feasible, sustainable and efficient interventions to control micronutrient deficiencies in women, infants and young children in Asia. Dissemination to key target audiences through diverse channels such as a public website, publications in high impact journals, presentations at relevant national, regional and international conferences, seminars and workshops, hosting national advocacy round tables and capacity building workshops for key policy makers and non-governmental organizations and through multi-media engagements.
The communication about the project targets different audiences:
1. Policy makers and other stakeholders at the national and international level
As an essential part of WP5 and WP7, the project outline the strategies to be integrated in the agenda of the national and international organizations, the non-governmental organizations and the donor community and policy makers in the European Union and Asia.
2. Scientific community
- Publication of articles and letters in peer reviewed scientific journals;
- Press releases; (Dowload the press release of the kick-off Meeting )
- Presentation of the project and its results at international scientific meetings ( see Symposium ICN, Sept 2013, Granada, Spain)
- Organization of specific sessions on micronutrient interventions in women, infants and young children in Asia at international meetings
3. General public

Objectives
- Share the objectives and progress of the project with a large audience and allow external contributions to the project
- Disseminate the project outcomes to the main stakeholders in the target countries
- Disseminate the project outcomes to national, regional and international audience
"SMILING for Action", Final dissemination event, 3rd April, Phnom-Penh, Cambodia
The final dissemination event will be organized Thursday 3rd of April 2014, at Sofitel Phnom-Penh, Cambodia. The five national roadmaps of priority interventions to prevent micronutrient deficiencies during the project will be presented to a large audience of stakeholders, policymakers, representatives of International organizations involved in nutrition policies implementation.

SMILING outcomes at the Micronutrient Forum Conference
Two presentations at the Micronutrient Forum Global Conference (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, June 2014) will be about specically SMILING. Many researchers from the project will present outcomes related to the project.
