The National Institute of Public Health (NIOPH), Lao PDR
Established in 1999 as National focal point for the research and training activities in Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR).
NIOPH us responsible for the fifth work plan of the Ministry of Health on “Research and training management” and acts as an office for the National Ethics Committee for Health Research; NIOPH is responsible for developing each five years National Health Research Master Plan on evaluation research based and coordinating, collaborating and conducting health research within and between countries, to strengthen both internal and international research capacity and networks.
In the SMILING project, the Health Research Department, the Ethic Department and the Health Information system Department will be involved. Staff members from these departments have experiences in conducting, collaborating and managing health research in various topics.

Main tasks in the project
The NIOPH will be co-leader of WP6 (MCM). In addition, NIOPH will contribute to WP2 (data and intervention mapping), WP4 (Linear programming) and WP7 (integration of interventions in national policies).
"SMILING for Action", Final dissemination event, 3rd April, Phnom-Penh, Cambodia
The final dissemination event will be organized Thursday 3rd of April 2014, at Sofitel Phnom-Penh, Cambodia. The five national roadmaps of priority interventions to prevent micronutrient deficiencies during the project will be presented to a large audience of stakeholders, policymakers, representatives of International organizations involved in nutrition policies implementation.

SMILING outcomes at the Micronutrient Forum Conference
Two presentations at the Micronutrient Forum Global Conference (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, June 2014) will be about specically SMILING. Many researchers from the project will present outcomes related to the project.
