ASEAN-EU STI days, 21-23 Jan 2014, Bangkok, Thailand
ASEAN-EU Cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation jointly tackling global challenges
The STI Days 2014 are organised by SEA-EU-NET 2, an international cooperation network, which will build upon and leverage strong Europe-Southeast Asia S&T relationships developed through past support and coordination actions, to deepen engagement and build momentum in S&T cooperation. It broadens the scope of Europe-Southeast Asia cooperation through stimulating sustainable innovation collaborations.
SMILING, and another FP 7 european project, NOPOOR, involving another SEA partner in Vietnam, and coordinated by IRD, were presented with posters in the IRD showcase.
The STI DAYS objectives is to focus specifically on grand societal challenges and how Europe and ASEAN are working together to tackle those challenges in areas such as Health research, Food safety and security, and Environmental research.
The STI Days serve as a focal point for different activities related to ASEAN-EU STI cooperation. The FP7 funded SEA-EU-NET II project is the driver behind the STI Days, and is working with different stakeholders to organise the three-day program of activities that will take place in Bangkok, Thailand 21-23 January, 2014. A key component of the STI Days will be the official launch of HORIZON 2020, the next EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
"SMILING for Action", Final dissemination event, 3rd April, Phnom-Penh, Cambodia
The final dissemination event will be organized Thursday 3rd of April 2014, at Sofitel Phnom-Penh, Cambodia. The five national roadmaps of priority interventions to prevent micronutrient deficiencies during the project will be presented to a large audience of stakeholders, policymakers, representatives of International organizations involved in nutrition policies implementation.

SMILING outcomes at the Micronutrient Forum Conference
Two presentations at the Micronutrient Forum Global Conference (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, June 2014) will be about specically SMILING. Many researchers from the project will present outcomes related to the project.
